Ash Stein is a competitive FIS alpine ski racer who has always enjoyed games that reward focus and good decision-making. As a child, he played a lot of chess and competed in elementary school tournaments simply because he liked the challenge. When team travel became part of ski racing in his early teens, long days of training were often followed by evenings with little to do, and games became a natural way to pass the time. It was during these trips that Ash learned to play poker, drawn to it not as gambling, but as a structured game of logic, patience, and reading situations.

Ash attended the Winter Sports School for high school so he could continue training and racing through the winter months. He graduated in November 2024 and is currently spending a postgraduate year skiing and competing across the United States and Europe before heading to college. Piquet grew out of Ash’s love of poker and his approach to competition—focusing under pressure, performing with discipline, and knowing when to go for it and when to play it safe.
